Height is arithmetic, not preference

The most common way a projector stand disappoints is that the buyer treats height as a comfort setting. It is not. Every projector throws its image at a fixed vertical offset from the lens, and the stand’s job is to place the lens so that offset lands the picture on your screen.

ProjectorCentral puts the underlying rule plainly in its explainer on lens offset: “All projectors have lens offset, even if that offset is 0%.” BenQ publishes the numbers for the HT2060 as a vertical offset of 62 to 187 mm at a 100-inch image, 75 to 224 mm at 120 inches, and 93 to 280 mm at 150 inches. Ultra-short-throw makes it starker still: Hisense’s PX3-PRO setup guide states that at a 100-inch image, the bottom of the picture sits 15.3 inches above the surface the projector rests on (17.8 inches at 120 inches, 21.5 inches at 150 inches).

So the calculation is: desired height of the image bottom, minus your projector’s vertical offset, equals the stand height you need. Do that before you shop, and the height range becomes a hard filter rather than a nice-to-have.

Get it wrong and the fix is keystone correction, which costs picture. Epson’s own Home Cinema 2350 guide instructs owners to “adjust the projector’s position to correct the image shape.
